Lean In Takes Over Mantle for FFT
Mantle is excited to have Lean In Mississippi take over Mantle for Fondren's First Thursday on September 1, 2016. Lean In will feature four women entrepreneurs for Startup Happy Hour where anyone can come have a beer, a popsicle, and learn how these Mississippi women are leaning in to the future.
Lean In Mississippi is a women’s professional group inspired by Sheryl Sandberg’s book Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead. Lean In's mission is to help women in Mississippi advance their careers by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and information. "We know that Mississippi is a tough place to be a woman in the workforce – and in order to drive change, we need to work together to encourage more women to step into larger roles to help shape the future of our communities and our state," says Kate McNeel, a founder of Lean In.
The Four Featured Women Entrepreneurs taking the spotlight on Thursday evening are:
- Dawn Dugle is a former journalist turned Business Storytelling Consultant and Trainer. She is the CEO of Dugle Media and works with Fortune 500 companies, non-profits and even state agencies around the country. Dawn trains her clients how to tell their business' story.
- Talamieka Brice is a visual storyteller and CEO of Brice Media. She is the only graphic designer in Mississippi to be featured in Graphic Design USA in that magazine’s 50-year history. Brice Media is also a certified woman-owned business in the state of Mississippi.
- Hollidae Morrison wants to save the planet, one recycled plastic bottle at a time. She knows when it comes to being eco-friendly, some people feel it’s a little too big a task. That’s why she founded Easily Eco, a platform to show “daily conservation made easy”.
- Emily Caraway is using her entrepreneurial spirit as an independent fashion consultant with LuLaRoe – a woman-owned company founded to help other women become financially independent.
So, no matter your gender, come Lean In to the future at Mantle this Thursday!
